It's rare that I stray from my routine on Instagram but I wanted to briefly discuss a point that has been on my mind (so bear with me). The late great Steve Jobs once said, "Your time is limited, don't waste it living someone else's life." That quote has stuck with me through 6 job changes, countless relationships and a few (really) bad haircuts. I spent the better part of my 25 years allowing the noise of other's opinions to drown out my inner voice. It took a Big Bang-style zen moment to realize I was doing it all wrong: I had no clue who "Justin" was or the kinds of things that truly made "me" up. Instead, I was a puzzle pieced together with the expectations from my outside world.
I'm not perfect and I don't want to be. Perfection isn't beautiful; it is unnerving and unoriginal. I like my flaws and discovering them means I'm closer to figuring out who I am. Once I began unlocking "me" and letting my INNER VOICE speak, the life I always wanted began falling into place. I finally found a puzzle I was able (and even skilled) at putting together. I say all this because I encourage each of you to follow your heart and intuition - because "they somehow already know what you truly want to become". Never stop exploring. Never stop dreaming. And, most importantly, never stop discovering the qualities/flaws that make you mind-bogglingly awesome! (📷 by me at Runyon Canyon in Los Angeles)
